Vintage 1960s BOBBIE BROOKS Pastel Sketch Print Dress / 25 Waist

A really special 1960s vintage dress! Even without the incredible print, the dress is stunning. Starting at the top... the shoulders each have two buttons to close. The gathered bust sits atop an empire waist, with a snug fit through the body to the true waist. The skirt gathers at the waist and falls to roughly below knee length. I have pictured it here with a petticoat (not included) for volume. The dress closes at the back with a metal zipper and hook and eye. But the print! The fabric feels like cotton, and features a pink, blue and yellow pastel watercolour swirl, with sketches of Mediterranean scenes. Buildings, fountains, pottery and more. An absolute treasure! Vintage, good condition overall, with some notes. This has been dearly loved, but has held up remarkably well for 60 years. The label and some interior seam edges are worn, not visible from the outside. One of the buttons on the left shoulder is a bit paler than the others, presumably newer. There are a couple of speckled rust stains: at the waist, near the left underarm, and on the skirt. There was a small tear, which the previous owner repaired by hand. Every time I go to look for it, it takes me ages to find it, because the print is so good at hiding things. I opted not to take it apart and redo it, because it's so hard to find already. The rust marks at the waist are front and centre, and may or may not bother you. Please have a good look at the photos!
