Vintage 1930s Tortoiseshell Celluloid Frame Floral Print Fabric Purse

A beautiful purse, on the cusp of becoming an antique. The frame is made of tortoiseshell celluloid, with a clasp to shut, and chain link strap. The body of the purse is black fabric, with a printed floral pattern. The lining is silk.

Vintage. The exterior is in good/very-good condition. The silk lined interior is rather worse for wear, unfortunately. The silk is shattered in a number of places, and there is some discolouration. There is a little pocket inside the purse, and the silk has shattered at the bottom of it, so it won't hold anything. Despite the sad state of the lining, fabric exterior is in fantastic shape. The celluloid frame has very little wear, and the sliding clasp works well. I suspect the frame may have had a hinge at each corner, but there are no hinges. Despite this, the frame does its job and the clasp works. You may, on occasion, feel the need to line up the frame halves before closing the clasp. The last thing to note, is that there is a scent of tobacco and vanilla. Not cigarette smoke, but tobacco. I've done all my tricks to lift the scent, but it may reveal itself to more sensitive noses after having been packed up a while. I find it pleasant, but not everyone will, I'm sure. The purse presents beautifully and is absolutely wearable!
