Vintage 50's Silk Floral Fit & Flare Dress Crinoline / 24 waist

Stunning 1950's silk dress, with a gorgeous print. Pink flowers with thorny black branches on white. Metal zipper at the side, with a hook and eye to close. The top is unlined, the skirt is lined with one layer of crinoline mesh for volume. The side opposite the zipper has a pocket! No labels, appears to be skillfully handmade. A very special dress!

Vintage, good condition overall. There are a number of hand sewn repairs on the inside of the dress, notable some seams and the hem. I have also reinforced some of the seams that were coming loose. The inside of each underarm has some slight discolouration, as pictured (last two photos). The zipper is in excellent working order. There is a variation in the intensity of the pink flowers, and while I thought at first it might be due to sun damage, I think there's a chance it's actually how the fabric was designed. It doesn't look patchy. I have painstakingly cleaned this dress ever so carefully, and it presents beautifully!
